Nelson Brothers was destined to be a craftsmanship orientated company beginning with one father, Theo C. Nelson. Erecting his first project (a sizable barn) at the ripe age of 16. Theo continued to build many custom homes and in 1968 with his wife Gen they settled on Lake Edna in MN to raise their 4 children. Through many years of teaching the 3 boys Mike, Marty and Mark, his skills of construction the 3 have defied the odds of brothers as career partners for 25 years in the Nisswa area. Best known for our honesty, and hands on approach we are one of the premier builders of custom homes in the entire Brainerd Lakes area.
Mike the eldest resides near Nisswa with his son Scott who is a Dunwoody graduate in Architectural Drafting. Mike takes pride in his design through turn key capabilities that he has been practicing since 1962 when he was quoted as telling mom, dad or anyone who would listen "I like to build". Mike now likes to ride his Harley with his son Scott and travel around to see new places. With several very impressive estates built under his keen eye for detail he is ready to begin your project.
Marty, the middle brother of the 3 lives in Pequot Lakes with his wife Amy and 3 children, Ray, Jake, and Katie. In 1979 Marty graduated from Dunwoody institute with a degree in architectural drafting
which told us that at the time he knew he was capable to run his own construction company witch inspired him to create a partnership with his brothers to build amazing homes. Marty loves fishing, hunting and racing dirt bikes with his 2 sons in hairscrambles and enduros.
Mark, the youngest lives in Lake Shore with his wife Debby and 2 teenage boys Ted and Garrett. After high school Mark attended Brainerd Community college for a business course while continuing to build with his father and brothers. Mark is still inspired to build custom homes with the craftsmanship he was taught and see no end to the possibilities as our area continues to grow. Mark loves to fish and is an avid hunter in almost everything and once in a while he'll get the itch to ride his kids motocross bikes around.
